Meet .S.E.A.M. first Prize winner 🥇 , Ledia Kostandini, an Albanian artist whose work explores social 👥transformations and the interplay between inherited or lost culture. Ledia presents within .S.E.A.M., "P Pillows" , an innovative textile and material project which captures the spirit of Tirana's urban landscape 🏙️ and brings it into indoor spaces.
“P Pillows” offers soft cushions that draw inspiration from street life 🚧, particularly focusing on the improvised "parking" 🅿️ objects found throughout the city.
Residents often craft unusual, heavy objects ⚙️to mark personal territories on streets and pavements. These objects, known for their randomness, solidity, and eclectic material composition, serve as the foundation for her series. Ledia reimagines urban hybrid items, transforming them into a series of comfortable pillows and puffs.
The series partly incorporates recycled ♻️ elements and materials like reclaimed fabrics or repurposed clothing 👕. This approach aligns with the fundamental principles of transformation and further enhances eco-consciousness 🌱among the public.
This project is implemented by Destil Creative Hub in cooperation with Polis University and Polytechnic University of Tirana and curated by Venera Mustafa, with the support of EU4Innovation.
